Reduce alone time with adults and older children or drop-in unexpectedly. 3. Talk casually, frequently and openly with your children about their bodies, sexuality and boundaries. 4. Let them know that no one is allowed to hurt their bodies. “It’s against the rules.” 5. Watch for sudden changes: drugs, alcohol, rebellion, withdrawal or depression. 6. Believe your child if they share that someone may be abusing them. STAY CALM. Ask open-ended questions, “What happened next?” Call 1-800-4-A-CHILD immediately for assistance. 7. Watch for adults pressing boundaries and breaking rules. Step-in with clear limits and solutions.
