“THE EYES ARE A WINDOW TO THE SOUL”
What would you see if you were to look into my eyes?
A child curled up in fear, asking God, please tell me why?
It feels as if life has been a struggle since birth,
As I look deep into my soul, I feel I have no worth.
Many have asked, what keeps you moving on?
I can say for 62 years I’d hope the morning would bring a new dawn…
Honestly, I am now at a point in this life.
That I can no longer tolerate any more pain or strife.
Just when I begin to feel sunrays of hope,
The enemy jumps in and says you are at the end of your rope.
The enemy sends messages to my mind.
The time in now, to commit suicide.
I then turn in prayer to my Heavenly Father
Crying out one more time, please help your chosen daughter.
Telling myself it is not okay to share what I am feeling inside.
Because they call 911, and I go for a ride.
When all I need is someone to listen to my heart
Please don’t send me away, then depart.
To know me, is to know when I cannot look you in the eyes
It is usually because I am about to cry.
Crying is shameful for others to see.
I’d rather sit in the corner, please don’t look at me.
I have truly been fighting for my life,
I am so sick of turmoil and strife.
So, God, I really need you to lend me a hand,
Maybe it’s time to take me home to the Promised Land.
I have felt that you are not done with me yet,
You have all of me, the real deal is what you get.
As soon as I rise and can take a breath,
The enemy shows up trying to destroy all that is left.
I have given up alcohol, cutting, sugar, cigarettes, & dope
I feel within my heart that I have a firsthand message of hope.
God,
I come to you now.
On bended knees I bow.
Take my life as I speak,
Please allow me to share the message of hope to all that are weak.
I am a testimony in that I have not given in
To the lies of the enemy who wants to win.
I ask for courage, strength & wisdom,
I now surrender my life to you until You say it is the End.
